Back from Summer's first ped appointment

Summer had her first ped exam today. She's been doing exceptionally well and seems like a very easy baby so far. She shocked the dr by already weighing 3 oz more than her birth weight; showed her how well she already holds her head up and rolls off her back onto her side. The dr brought in a student to examine her after her initial exam and said this is an example of a perfect baby... everything is ahead of schedule and this is the ideal. She told Katie she's obviously an excellent mother even though this is her first baby.

So Katie left there beaming. I was proud of them both!

Summer is sleeping 4 hrs at a stretch overnight then eats and sleeps another 3-4 hrs. So far Katie's really lucked out!

I'm so glad she's is doing so well....both of them. Ricky was a wonderful baby, everyone told me that if I had a second, it would probably be a terror....LOL.

ROFL Janet, that's exactly what happened to my older dd. Her first was a very easy going laid back baby. No problem keeping her happy.
Her second has been hell on wheels! She had colic every night from midnight till 5 am and screamed like you were torturing her regardless of what you tried to calm her... and even though she's 3 now, she's still a real challenge.

What wonderful compliments!!!! It sounds like Katie is doing a wonderful job as a new mother but I believe that she probably has been taught by an exceptional mother!!!!! Both of you deserve a pat on the back!!!!! (Where's the pictures? Hint Hint!!)

Thanks Diana, I think the maternal instinct is just really born into some and luckily both my girls got it.

summernook.jpg Summer has decided she likes her pacifier. She will suck her fingers if she doesn't have it, and pokes herself in the eye in the process!
