I've missed you Judy!!! I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself after your move. That couch is gorgeous!!!
I love bold colors in houses like you described. Those earthy colors always seem so inviting. My parents decided to paint some bold colors after I moved out of the house. Upstairs everything kind of flows together so they used a sort of green.... not like too bright or too dark... just kind of a mossy green I guess, and it looks so good with dark baseboards and cabinets, and the brick fireplace they have. Downstairs they went with gold tones, but some of the walls are different shades. You don't even notice it unless you're looking for it. It just seems like some walls pop out and draw your attention more, which is where they have pictures displayed and stuff.
Oh and you said "I can't believe that in 5 years, all the goals but the man in my life have been reached!".... well at least you got all the important things done

Judy, so happy that you are happy and able to enjoy life. For color ideas, you might Google paint palates. (hope I spelled that right.) There are color palates that designers use to coordinate homes. Also, if you are purchasing all your paint from Sherwin Williams, as a courtesy to their customers, they often have a designer on staff who will give you color ideas and may even visit your home to recommend colors for you to consider. Paint stores may have color palates, also.

Enjoy!! It sounds like you are already!!

Paint confuses me. I brought home a whole bunch of palettes from Home Depot and was immediately overwhelmed. I needed a tranquilizer!

I have to laugh at myself. I'm really very capable, and don't tend to fall apart too easily. I'm even somewhat creative, but paint choices seem to send me right over the edge.

I didn't know that Sherwin Williams will do that with a decorator. I may just take advantage of that. Thanks, Marilyn.

Janet - I got really lucky with the shipping on the dresser. It's $50! The seller will drive it over in his truck. Here's the best thing - He was hoping for a buyer in Maine, close to him. I'm 3 1/2 hours away, but he's going to honor his shipping quote. He's coming next Tuesday. I really hope it's as nice as it looks!

One of the main reasons I don't buy many items, especially big ones, on eBay is because of the S&H. It just doesn't pay. I usually try to figure how far I'll have to drive to pick up the same or similar item, how much gas will cost, and then decide. I've never bought furniture on eBay before.

The couch has free delivery and free "white glove" set up. They'll take it out of the box, set it up, and so on.

I'm very cautious about having large items shipped. What if they only did sidewalk delivery on a couch?
