Congratulations!! My husband and I did the same thing, we went to the city hall. It wasn't the "dream wedding" we wanted but the marriage is the most important thing. Our wedding rings are far from fancy since we couldn't really afford anything extravagant but the symbolism behind the ring is what is most important. I would rather have a simple ring and a wonderful, loving, marriage than have platinum and diamonds and have a marriage based on lies and deceit.

Hey! I have platinum and diamonds and we have a great marriage! But, hubby didn't buy the ring.....it is a family heirloom that has been passed down from his great-grandmother to his grandmother to his mom. It was his mother's engagement ring and she gave it to him to give to me. She must really like me, huh?

I'll see what I can do. When I get home from work, I'll have to see if I can take a good picture of it. If I can, then I'll post it along with the "story" of the ring. The story will make a good thread I suppose.
