I remember when my kids use to go to VBS it was so nice.. Sounds like your enjoying yourself. GO FOR IT!

Sounds like you're having a good time, Diana!!! We do VBS a little different. For us it's a Wednesday night summer series. This year the theme is the Keys to the Kingdom. We made some squigglie key rings and each child has one that they hook on a board at the end of each class so it's there for them next week and each week, they get another key. The keys are about 6 inches long and are made of bright colored construction paper. Different teachers take turns doing the lesson each week. Mine was a few weeks ago, and was on baptism. Last nights was on Armor from Ephesians, putting on the whole Armor of God. Lots of people helped prepare for this one and they used silver and gold poster board and actually made all the pieces of armor for each child. The breast plate of righteousness, etc. We got lots of pictures of last night. I'll have to post some. This has worked out well for us rather than doing one intense week.

Last night I had 25 kids in my group!!! Everything that we do pretty well keeps their attention but on Tuesday night I had trouble keeping the kids together when I would go from one activity to another so I asked for another helper to help keep a watch on the kids. Wendy was wonderful at helping. I also have Tanya so between the three of us we're keeping pretty busy!!

The offering is very interesting because instead of the contest being how much, it's by weight so the kids are encouraged to bring pennies and coins. The kids have brought in ziplock bags and bowls of pennies!!! Then the buckets are put on a scale. Last night was determined to be a tie!!

What fun Diana! It sounds like you are really having a great time. Is Karlie in VBS too? My grandchildren went a couple of summers ago, and really liked it.

Karlie went for three nights and then she got sick and couldn't finish. She absolutely loved it! They let the kids come up to sing and dance with the leaders and she joined right in! She loves music!!

I had 28 kids last night. Whew!!! We had parents as well so things went a lot different. I got to put a "pie" in Amy's face!! The kids brought offering and so for certain amounts different people got a pie. It was fun!! I've never done a VBS that was as much fun as this one!!! I even loved it..................but I'm glad that it's over!!!

That's the only thing about spreading ours out over the summer, Diana. We still have two more Wednesday nights before ours is over. It's been very good though. The number of students varries greatly depending on who is out of town on family vacation. We have an end of summer fish fry on the 29th. Only thing, I'll be at a fishing tournament with customers that day, so will miss it this year.
